Describe a risk you took that you do not regret.
You know, sometimes taking a big leap, even when it feels a little scary, can lead to the most amazing and unexpected things. That’s definitely been true for me! A few years ago, I made the decision to move from sunny California to Utah. My heart was really pulling me to be closer to my family. It was a tough choice because I truly loved my job teaching at a Montessori school back in California. Plus, I was leaving behind my dad, my brothers, and all my friends – people who were such a big part of my life.
It felt like a real leap of faith, stepping away from that familiar world and into something new. But honestly, what unfolded in Utah was more beautiful than I could have ever imagined. One of the biggest joys was being there to help raise my niece. That experience was just so incredibly rewarding, watching her grow and being a part of her little world. And now, my sister has a second wonderful baby boy, I’m just overflowing with happiness to be an aunt to two amazing children!
Life had even more wonderful surprises in store for me here in Utah. I met the love of my life – someone I never would have connected with if I hadn’t made this move. And professionally, I found a new home at a truly wonderful Montessori school. I feel so lucky to be teaching a mixed-age elementary class here; it’s such a fulfilling part of my life.
And now, in a twist that feels like something out of a movie, our little family is planning a move back to California at the end of May! It’s this amazing full-circle moment. Looking back, that initial decision to move felt a bit daunting, but it opened up a whole world of unexpected happiness. I’m just so incredibly grateful for all the amazing things that came out of taking that risk. It truly showed me that sometimes, the scariest steps can lead to the most beautiful destinations.
Blessed be!
